How to Become a TAMUSHRM Member

How to Join

Texas A&M SHRM has an open membership policy, which means there is no application or selection process!

All interested students are encouraged to join.

While affiliated with Mays Business School, membership is not restricted to a specific major or classification level. We welcome anyone with a passion for HR, leadership, business, or learning!

If you want to join start by joining our main communication channel on Flare and follow us on Instagram, both linked here: Our Quick Links

You will be able to access our semester calendar, meeting details, and more through Flare. Feel free to reach out to any of the officers directly or in the group chat if you have questions.

You can also pay dues through our quick links as well. ur Quick Links

If you pay dues and join our flare, all that is left to become a member is fulfilling your point requirements.

To be a member of the Texas A&M SHRM Chapter, you are required to pay dues of $40/semester or $60/year.

Chapter dues can be paid with cash or check at meetings, or online with credit card through the secure Texas A&M MarketPlace.

National SHRM Student Membership

National student membership is $50 per year.  Students can register for national student membership online with the SHRM Student Membership Online Application.

(Local and national dues are not inclusive of each other. As such, individuals are strongly encouraged to obtain membership with both.)

To become an "Active Member" within the Texas A&M Student Chapter, we require that each member obtain a minimum total of seven points over the course of one semester. (This varies by semester; this is current for Spring of 2025).

There are opportunities to gain the points by attending the bi-weekly meetings, participating in SHRM events, and engaging in volunteer opportunities. You can obtain points through the following:

Attending General Meeting = 1 point

Attending Socials or Profit Shares = point

Bringing a Friend to Profit Shares = point

BV-SHRM Event = 1 point

Popcorn Fundraiser = 1 point

Coffee Shop Buddies = 1 point

Four points must come from meetings, three must come from socials/profit shares.
